Great to be back in ausbiz‘s Sydney studios this morning talking to Juliette Saly. We discussed the ‘downgrade season’ risks with over 100 ASX companies presenting at this week’s Macquarie Conference.
Given recent downgrades there is clear pressure on consumer-facing businesses like Block (ASX:XYZ) and Zip Co (ASX:ZIP) and ongoing risks in travel, with firms like Flight Centre (ASX:FLT) and Corporate Travel Management (CTM) AU/NZ (ASX:CTD) also downgrading.
Despite challenges, I’m optimistic about some of the financials sector, highlighting Tyro Payments (ASX:TYR) as a takeover candidate, and Beforepay Group (ASX:B4P) and debt collection businesses Credit Clear Limited (ASX:CCR) as stocks likely to be net beneficiaries of consumer weakness.
